33rd fastest in the world!

We noticed incoming traffic from a link titled "Growing Blogs". To our surprise (and delight), Caffeinespot was WordPress's 33rd fastest growing blog worldwide on June 16th!
Not bad for a little coffee shop in Seapoint.
If you're a Cape Town based blogger, you can be part of it by mentioning Caffeinspot in your blog. In return, we'll hook you up a free buzzy coffee and jumbo muffin, add you to the blogroll, and try send some link-love your way.
Dewet, a Cape Town programmer, did an excellent roundup of Barcamp Capetown. Thanks for the Caffeine mention Dewet… we look forward to meeting you for that muffin and coffee!

[...] Thanks to Dave's underground microbranding strategy, Caffeine has shot up WordPress' fastest growing blog stats to 33rd globally. Excellente. I'm particularly stoked 'cos their shop is a few metres away from my office (which I share BTW with a brilliant German designer Kristoph with a wicked sense of humour – so if you ever need a website designed or fresh brand face he's deep in the trust network!).. so I'll be delighted if it attracts a rockin' crew because I'm missing being in the heart of town. [...] Caffeinespot was ranked 33rd fasted growing blog in the world by WordPress last week. Adrian Rossouw – Alpha Geek, developer of Drupal declared Caffeine “the unofficial hang out of the web cogniscenti“. We’re all really stoked, and now the shop is having WiFi installed (as per cogniscenti demand)! [...]

What? only CT based bloggers benefit? What about us Jozi boys and girls who want a piece of the action!?
[...] Blogs are dialogues – they invite conversation and participation from readers. This empowering, transparent approach to journalism has revolutionised the make-up of the web. It’s quickly evolving from a collection of static web pages into a vibrant, pulsating conversation driven by the consumer. Caffeine understood the inherent potential of such a platform and took the plunge by creating a simple, free (emphasis on free) blog using http://www.wordpress.com. The resultant creation is located at http://www.caffeinespot.wordpress.com. But just having a blog is not enough – you need to generate conversation and buzz to attract consumers. So Caffeine drew alongside some prominent Cape Town bloggers – Dave Duarte, Jon Cherry, Max Kaizen, Rafiq Phillips being just some of them – to develop a strategy for creating buzz. They decided to incentivise bloggers to talk about Caffeine in their blogs by offering a free coffee and muffin to any who did so. It wasn’t long before Caffeine was enjoying some friendly ‘linkage’, and WordPress.com reported on 16 June this year that Caffeine Spot was the 33rd fastest growing blog in the world! [...]
